Position Summary:
Global Delivery Services (GDS) is EY’s shared services organization. It consists of multiple service centers to deliver a range of support and services to EY.

The Global Delivery Services (GDS) BMC team is part of the Business Enablement Communications team. The team works closely with EY’s GDS leaders to develop relevant, integrated communications that deepen people’s understanding of the role GDS plays to increase revenue, improve margin and reduce indirect costs. The team also works on GDS’s employer brand and internal marketing of our services to EY users across Regions and Functions.

As the Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) Assistant Director, the role will be responsible for developing a structured approach to GDS’ external communication efforts and define the brand building strategy for the five markets that we operate in. The role will work closely with our leaders to develop and drive the external communication plan and strategically position GDS externally.

Responsibilities

Industry Association:
Connect and cultivate relationships with relevant industry associations (by market) to appropriately position GDS externally.
Determine and execute engagement and sponsorship opportunities.
Identify thought leadership and speaking opportunities for spokespeople.
Create content for contribution to online forums, newsletter.
Define market and audience specific positioning and messaging.

Media:
Actively work to enhance and cultivate relationships with the media to appropriately position GDS externally.
Identify journalists and work on a relationship building program between them and the spokespeople.
Facilitate and coordinate media training for spokespeople.
Prepare spokespeople for media interviews and speaking engagements by providing detailed briefing books with talking points and other material as required.
Create visibility for leaders with high-level placements in publications.

Social Media:
Execute the GDS social media strategy in collaboration with the Social media specialist.
Develop and maintain relevant GDS content across internal EY and GDS channels, including social media.

Alumni Relations:
Oversee the delivery of GDS alumni relations strategy, including regular communications and events.

Skills

First class communications skills - excellent written and verbal communications (including presentations/facilitation), as well as listening and interpretation skills.
Creative, innovative thinker with influencing skills to bring ideas to the table.
Strong experience managing and advising senior stakeholders.
Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders at all levels.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Experience in event management.
Well versed in developing communications plans, strategic recommendations and managing/implementing plans.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task, effectively delegate and prioritize.
Ability to think strategically.
Be flexible and manage changing requirements and circumstances.
Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
Deadline oriented; with the ability to work under tight timelines.
Ability to work in fast paced, high energy environment.
Strong executive presence
Excellent people skills, upbeat and enthusiastic attitude.
Display an understanding of communicating across different cultures, languages and time zones.
Must be self-motivated.

Experience

10-15 years of experience including external/internal communications and marketing.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications or public relations.
Previous experience working with the Indian media and industry associations.
Experience working in a virtual team and leading without authority.
Proven ability to develop and lead the implementation of communications plans.
Working knowledge of the professional services sector is preferred.

Other requirements

The role will be based in Bangalore, India.
Travel may be required pending business and team needs.
