We are currently seeking an experienced professional to lead the Global Liquidity and Cash Management (GLCM) team.
HSBC’s Global Liquidity and Cash Management (GLCM) is a key Product partner to Global Banking and Markets (GB&M) and Commercial (CMB) customers. The Head of GLCM, India is responsible for proactively leading and driving business growth, managing business risk for HSBC's Cash Management business in India for corporate and institutional clients, as well as positioning HSBC as the top cash management provider and thought leader of such services in each of its chosen customer segments in the country. This position has a joint reporting line into the Country Head of CMB and the Regional Head of GLCM ASP.

Principal Accountabilities
Impact on the Business
- Develop and execute suitable medium and long term strategies for the GLCM business to ensure market and thought leadership for the GLCM business in India
- Drive and deliver revenue and PBT growth, achieve AOP targets and maximize the financial contribution of the payments and cash management business
- Drive an optimal balance of revenue growth and risk management to build a sustainable GLCM business
- Drive the delivery of a comprehensive and competitive suite of GLCM solutions, delivered through a range of delivery channels by executing a commercially focused product management strategy, which aligns with the propositional requirements of the Customer Groups
- Lead the development and execution of a high quality client-centric culture that delivers superior solutions, product innovation, onboarding and service to clients across the range of GLCM products
- Take responsibility for running a globally & regionally compliant GLCM business which meets changing regulatory requirements and ensures reputational risk impact is mitigated / minimized for GLCM
Customers / Stakeholders:
- Strive for world class-leading customer experience by cultivating a consistent selling and relationship management culture
- Deepen customer relationships and collaborate with other product groups – GM, HSS and GTRF to deliver solutions that are best in class and grow wallet share
- Develop networks with key external stakeholders such as regulatory bodies, IT vendors and leverage these to drive thought/market leadership
- Understand current economic trends and its impact on HSBC within assigned country and identify key levers to capitalize on opportunities or minimize downside exposure
- Represent GLCM at local/regional governance committees and forums and align prioritization within the HSBC organizational matrix

- Lead the GLCM business, driving Global consistency, implement shared best practice and monitoring progress against KPIs and stated strategy
- Work with local Human Resources to attract and develop talent, drive a high performance-culture, and drive strategic imperatives around diversity and inclusion
- Enhance the Bank’s image in the marketplace to build key relationships with third parties through marketing events, media releases and corridor roadshows
- Business Risk and Control Management, Operational Effectiveness & Control
- Ensure that an effective, independent and engaged GLCM BRCM function operates in across India GLCM franchise in conjunction with the regional and global BRCM construct
- Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and implement and observe the Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators
- Implement the Group compliance policy locally by containing compliance risk in liaison with the Regional/In-Country Compliance Officers ensuring adequate compliance resources and training
- Foster a compliance culture. The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply
- Continually re-assess the operational risks inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings and the impact of new technology
- Contribute to the overall corporate governance structure in the Region, including policy and decision-making, as a member of various Committees
Major Challenges
- Working within a Global, Regional and Local matrix of stakeholders to develop cash management culture/capability in India to meet the needs of the Group's corporate and institutional customer base in GBM and CMB
- To create a differentiated GLCM proposition in India enabling us to take market share from other competitor banks and effectively leveraging the HSBC network to win more international business
- Build, coach and develop a high performing GLCM team to support sustainable business growth
Qualifications
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
- Broad corporate banking and relationship management experience (min. 15 yrs experience) including an in-depth knowledge of the GLCM business on a global basis
- Direct P&L management experience with a strong client focus, sales leadership and relationship management skills to drive revenue growth
Ability to lead and motivate a large team, employing appropriate management styles with a keen sensitivity to the local culture - Highly developed communication and influencing skills set
- A good understanding of business risk, operational risk and technology application to business transformation
