General Manager Data Center job is available in a Telecom Company. This job of GM Data Center will be based in Islamabad. Ideal resource required for the job in telecom industry must have Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education & experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or technology related field are highly preferred.
Experience required for General Manager Data Center is minimum of 10 years in data center operations with 2 years of experience in managing professional level employees or medium to large, cross-functional teams or projects. CDCP, CDCS & CDCE certification will be a plus for this job. The Data Center General Manager will oversee third-party support teams responsible for monitoring, managing, and supporting Data Center infrastructure within area of technical subject matter expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Develop policies and SOPs for data center operations, maintenance and security.
- Design improvements in the existing systems and procedures
- Ensure operational processes, and data center is maintained in accordance with international standards and leading practices.
- Ensure compliance with budgets, targets, and deadlines through the implementation of cost-efficient controls and solutions
- Track third-party support team performance towards contractual obligations and metrics, and prioritize support efforts across the organization.
- Lead and participate in engagements that have a strong business & technology focus
- Manage incident resolution within the environment, facilitating collaboration among other infrastructure and business service support teams as required.
- Serve as an escalation point from third party support teams for major incidents, and escalate to the appropriate stakeholders as required.
- Ensure root cause analysis, performed in accordance with policies and standards.
- Ensure that datacenter management tools are fully integrated with service management system.
- Lead datacenter capacity planning and consolidation efforts in areas of technical subject matter expertise.
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture to evaluate and recommend tools and processes that enhance the stability and functionality of the server environment, ensuring that any new technologies are compatible with existing architecture and standards.
- Define and establish datacenter service definitions.
