BRANDING AND MARKETING DIRECTOR
About Sawa Africa is home to botanical species with high nutritional value and health benefits that are in high demand for organic cosmetic and superfood uses. However, agricultural practices among farmers cannot meet the current global demand. Farmers need the tools, competence and know-how to increase production to sell their products the market. In addition, these products are traded along multiple stakeholders in the value chain, making it difficult for end consumers to trace the source of their products. At the same time, global and international retailers are in search of high quality of high nutritional value food, drink and cosmetic products. Sawa works with cooperatives to import highly nutritional raw materials and brand them into quality organic superfood and cosmetics products.
We are seeking a Brand and Marketing Director to drive the generation of revenue through the provision of efficient and effective brand marketing programs.
Job Description:
The Brand and Marketing Director is responsible of driving and executing marketing campaigns and activities for Sawa. The main objectives are to drive awareness in the market, acquire and retain customers to drive market share and strengthen brand awareness, and enhance the positioning of Sawa in the market. You will ensure that marketing priorities and activities are aligned with the overall strategies of the company and the Sawa brand.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work effectively across all marketing and channel functions to drive the vision and brand strategy
- Collaborate with Product Development and Head of Business Development in the process of designing and developing new products and concepts
- Collaborate with Head of Business Development in the planning and execution of go-to-market activities and new campaigns
- Collaborate with national and international partners to ensure of all consumer strategies.
- Ensure that the branding message, interactions and experiences reflect the intended quality and values of Sawa
- Manage and evaluate the performance of marketing campaigns, assess against business goals (ROI and KPIs), and constantly optimise performance
- Manage and track the brand marketing budget
- Create marketing material for both B2B and B2C customer segments
- Participate in Trade shows nationally and internationally
- Evaluate B2B customers and B2C customer experience across multiple channels
- Maintain and create a high standard of cooperation with partners, wholesalers, retailers and key stakeholders such as PR and media agencies and other local media
- Build and develop online community of Sawa supporters
- Create and maintain a positive and highly professional image of Sawa as a credible and high quality brand
Experience and Qualifications
- Masters or Bachelor in Marketing and Branding, International Marketing, public relations, communication or equivalent
- International Experience is strongly preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in branding and marketing management with strong consumer brands is preferred
- Skilled in various software programs to enable the building and editing of creative concepts and ensure timely execution
- Professional knowledge and experience in digital marketing is an advantage
- Fluency in general business, marketing and creative concepts and workflows with a talent for communicating these to a wide variety of partners
- Proven, excellent presentation skills and story-telling ability
